San Marino Registration Specialist and Flag State Inspectors Network
Worldwide Office Network
The Global Organizational Structure
The Worldwide Technical & Commercial Network of the San Marino Ship Register is organized through a centralized governance model composed of one Global Head Office and ten Regional Technical & Commercial Areas strategically located within the world’s principal maritime regions.
This organizational structure enables the Registry to maintain effective proximity to shipowners and maritime stakeholders while preserving centralized statutory authority and institutional consistency.
The Global Head Office is located in the Republic of San Marino and serves as the executive, regulatory and strategic centre of the Worldwide Technical & Commercial Network. Acting on behalf of the San Marino Maritime Administration, it exercises the statutory authority delegated to the Registry and retains exclusive responsibility for all regulatory, strategic and executive decisions affecting the worldwide activities of the San Marino Ship Register.
The Regional Technical & Commercial Areas constitute the worldwide operational network of the San Marino Ship Register and are responsible for promoting and supporting the Registry within their respective geographical markets. Operating under the strategic direction, regulatory supervision and operational coordination of the Global Head Office, each Area develops commercial relationships with shipowners, managers, brokers and maritime stakeholders, provides local technical assistance, coordinates surveys, Flag State inspections and certification activities, and ensures the consistent implementation of the policies, standards and quality objectives established by the San Marino Maritime Administration. Regional Areas perform their activities with delegated operational responsibilities, while strategic, commercial and technical matters requiring decisions on behalf of the Registry are managed in close coordination with, and subject to the guidance and approval of, the Global Head Office. According to the characteristics of each market, Regional Areas may operate through Regional Offices, Subsidiaries, Direct Agents, Maritime Brokers, Technical Representatives and Flag State Inspectors, ensuring effective local presence while maintaining centralized governance, uniform decision-making and consistent service standards throughout the worldwide network.
