San Marino at the 2025 Greek Shipping Awards: maritime diplomacy, social responsibility, and a strategic vision for sector development
Athens – 6 December 2025 San Marino participated in the 2025 Greek Shipping Awards, one of the most prestigious international events in the maritime sector, celebrating excellence, innovation, and global leadership.
The Republic of San Marino was represented by a high-level delegation including Minister of Finance and Transport, Marco Gatti, the President and Director General of the Maritime Authority, Loris Francini and Marco Conti, Luciano Serra Honorary Consul and representative for maritime affairs of the Republic of San Marino in Italy. and the President of the San Marino Ship Register, Domenico Gianluca Miliziano.
During the ceremony, San Marino contributed to a charitable donation supporting Argo, an organization assisting children with disabilities in the families of Greek seafarers.
The donation was formally presented by Gianluca Tucci, Director General of the San Marino Ship Register and Minister Plenipotentiary to the IMO, who stated:
*“It is a privilege for San Marino to support Argo and the meaningful work they do for children with disabilities within the seafaring community. Shipping is not only an industry — it is a family, and we have a responsibility to stand with those who face the greatest challenges.
Tonight’s contribution reflects our belief that progress in maritime must walk hand in hand with solidarity and compassion.”*
San Marino’s participation forms part of its broader maritime strategy, aimed at strengthening the country’s role in international maritime fora, promoting high standards of safety, sustainability, and innovation, and consolidating a competitive framework capable of attracting qualified operators and investment.
In this context, San Marino also sponsored the Gallery of Winners, an exhibition space honoring past award recipients since 2004, as a tangible commitment to promoting maritime excellence and culture.

San Marino protagonista ai Greek Shipping Awards 2025: diplomazia marittima, responsabilità sociale e visione strategica per lo sviluppo del settore
Atene, 6 Dicembre 2025 – San Marino ha preso parte ai Greek Shipping Awards 2025, uno degli eventi più riconosciuti a livello internazionale nel settore marittimo, che celebra eccellenza, innovazione e leadership globale.
La Repubblica di San Marino è stata rappresentata da una delegazione istituzionale composta dal Ministro delle Finanze e Trasporti, Marco Gatti, dal Presidente e dal Direttore Generale dell’Autorità Marittima, Loris Francini e Marco Conti, da Luciano Serra, Console Onorario e rappresentante per gli affari marittimi della Repubblica di San Marinoin Italia e dal Presidente del San Marino Ship Register, Domenico Gianluca Miliziano.
Durante la serata, San Marino ha contribuito a una donazione benefica destinata ad Argo, organizzazione che sostiene bambini con disabilità appartenenti a famiglie di marittimi greci.
L’assegno è stato ufficialmente consegnato da Gianluca Tucci, Direttore Generale del San Marino Ship Register e Ministro Plenipotenziario presso l’IMO, che ha affermato:
*“È un privilegio per San Marino sostenere Argo e il significativo lavoro che svolge a favore dei bambini con disabilità all’interno della comunità marittima. Il settore dello shipping non è solo un’industria, ma una famiglia, e abbiamo la responsabilità di sostenere chi affronta le sfide maggiori.
Il contributo di questa sera riflette la nostra convinzione che il progresso marittimo debba procedere insieme a solidarietà e compassione.”*
La partecipazione della delegazione si inserisce nel quadro della strategia marittima sammarinese, volta a rafforzare la presenza del Paese nelle organizzazioni internazionali, promuovere standard elevati di sicurezza, sostenibilità e innovazione, e consolidare un modello competitivo in grado di attrarre operatori e investimenti qualificati.
In tale prospettiva, San Marino ha inoltre sponsorizzato la Gallery of Winners, spazio espositivo dedicato ai vincitori delle passate edizioni a partire dal 2004, quale testimonianza dell’impegno verso la valorizzazione della cultura marittima globale.
